USA Karate has chosen Fort Worth to host the 2024 and 2026 USA Karate USA Open and Junior International Cup at the Fort Worth Convention Center March 28-31, 2024 and April 23-27, 2026.

“We are truly honored that USA Karate chose Fort Worth to host these prestigious events and we are extremely excited about the opportunity to welcome their athletes, coaches and fans to our great city, ” said Jason Sands, executive director of the Fort Worth Sports Commission.

The 2024 and 2026 USA Karate U.S. Open tournaments are part of a multi-year contract between the Fort Worth Sports Commission and USA Karate. USA Karate joins the list of several other governing bodies that have recently announced events in Fort Worth in the 2023 -2024 year, including USA Fencing November NAC, USA Gym Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, USA Taekwondo National Championship, USA Weightlifting Open Series 2 and Friendship Cup, and USA Wrestling Senior Nationals.

“USA Karate is thrilled to partner with the Fort Worth Sports Commission and the City of Fort Worth,” said Michael Cain, chief executive officer of USA Karate. “We are always looking to provide our athletes and members with world class events and experiences. We had many cities express interest in hosting our events, and Fort Worth and its team set itself apart as the best place for an event home for USANKF.  We look forward to a long partnership with the Fort Worth Sports Commission and to watching the growth of the sport of karate in the Lone Star State and nationwide.”

The Championships are expected to bring more than 3,000 athletes total and a combined $4.6 million in economic impact.
