As of right now, the Pan American Games are the closest the sport of karate can get to the feel of the Olympic Games. Hopefully, that changes in 2020. |

Having movie night at the house on Friday nights.
|
| Advice for the youth athletes in karate? |
Karate-do is something that you can do your whole life and should not end because you didn't have the success that you wanted at an event. Compete for the love of the sport! Be humble and appreciative of the athletes that came before you! No one person is bigger than the art/sport.
If you work hard and do what is asked of you to do, there is nothing that you can't achieve. Most importantly, enjoy every moment! |
| Where do you get your inspiration from? |
My inspiration comes from watching athletes have success and expressing genuine excitement for that success. There is not a better feeling than watching someone achieve something that they didn't think they could achieve and knowing that no matter how minor it might have been, you had a part in that success.
