USA Karate is pleased to announce a Referee Training Camp from Friday, July 31 to August 2, 2026, in Denver, Colorado.
The training camp will be held with the Q3 Team USA athlete training camp, with access to top athletes, coaches, and referees. Increase standards for officiating, enjoy camaraderie with your peers, and learn from our senior USA Karate WKF officials. It is a fantastic way for coaches and officials of all levels to receive in-depth education and participate in extensive discussion sessions at the two-day camp.
The training camp is a true working camp that provides a deep dive into areas for both coaches and referees on officiating, including detailed kata and kumite scenarios, video evaluation, handling protests, best practices, maximizing performance, and much more. The goal is to continue to provide the athletes with the best-trained officials. Guidance, experience, and insight will be shared from recent 2026 WKF K1 events.
The camp also offers an opportunity for USA Karate coaches to obtain or upgrade their referee licenses and attend the camp and course at a discounted rate. This is a great chance for coaches and officials to interact on the correct application and common understanding of the rules during the expanded Q&A sessions.
This sanctioned event is highly recommended for coaches and officials, including officials that will be traveling internationally to the PKF Junior Championships in Costa Rica, upcoming WKF K1 events, or the World Championships in Poland.
Work with coaches, referees, and USA athletes during practice and practical matches using the latest equipment. This benefits all three groups by working through actual scenarios that are encountered at signature and international events.

Note: Participants must be a minimum of 1st kyu brown belt or black belt to test for a referee license.
