2024 USA Karate Membership Levels & Access

Level I – Non/Pre-Competition Member

This membership is for those individuals who want to be a member of the National Governing Body (NGB) but not currently competing. This membership would be best for parents of competing athletes,  boosters, sponsors, or club members who simply want to be connected and support the NGB.

Access: 

  • USA Karate newsletter and bulletins
  • USA Karate sanctioned Regional Camps
  • USA Karate National Coaches and Trainers in Region

Cost: $20 annually

Level II – Locally Competitive Member

This is membership is for those individuals who want to compete in the Sport of Karate at the local level. This membership is best for athletes who are just getting into the sport and do not plan on attending USA Karate National level events such as the USA Open or National Championships. This membership is required to compete at USA Karate sanctioned events.

Access:

  •  All Level I membership access including newsletters, training camps and coaching resources.
  • Competition in local and regional level USA Karate sanctioned competitions.

Cost: $30 annually

Level III – Nationally Competitive Member

This membership is for those individuals who want to compete in national level events such as the National Championships, USA Open and other USA Karate Signature events.  This membership is required to compete at the National Championships.

Access:

  • All Level I&II membership access including newsletters, camps, coaching resources and local competitions.
  • Competition in national level USA Karate sanctioned competitions.

Cost:$60 annually

Level IVElite and Internationally Competitive Member

This membership is for those high-level individuals who are looking to be on the USA National Karate Team or to compete in international competitions outside the USA. This membership is for serious athletes who are looking for competition at events such as the Pan American Games, Continental and World Championships, WKF Youth Leagues, Series A and Premier League.  This membership is required to compete in the US Senior or Junior Team Trials and elite categories at the USA Open and National Championships.

Access:

  • All previous levels of membership including newsletters, camps, coaching resources, local and national level competitions.
  • US Team Trial competitions
  • International competitions sanctioned by the Pan American Karate Federation.
  • International competitions sanctioned by the World Karate Federation.

Cost: $60 annually

Requirements

Athletes and Club Participants 18 Years of Age and older

  • SafeSport Training (Required Annually)

Coaches, Officials, and Regional Officials 18 Years of Age and Older

  • SafeSport Training (Required Annually)
  • Background Check (Required Every 2 Years)

Note:

  • Memberships are now on a rolling basis (good from 1-year after purchase).
