Fariba Madani Concludes Fifteen Years of Service on the WKF Referee Commission After More Than 25 Years as an International Referee
by USA-NKF
USA Karate is proud to honor Fariba Madani for her outstanding dedication to the World Karate Federation, where she has served as one of the sport’s most respected officials for more than two decades. Her commitment, professionalism, and perseverance have left a lasting mark on tatamis around the world, including at the 2020 Olympic Games.
For the past fifteen years, Fariba has been a member of the WKF Referee Commission, including three years as the Commission’s Assistant Secretary and an additional three years as Secretary. In these roles, she has helped guide the global officiating structure, support referee development, and uphold the traditions and standards that define our sport.
Fariba has chosen to step away from her duties on the WKF Referee Commission to enjoy more time with her family, especially as she celebrates her daughter’s recent engagement, and to focus more deeply on her responsibilities as the Chief Referee in the United States. Her leadership at home remains important as she continues elevating the quality and professionalism of officiating across the country.
Even as she transitions out of her WKF commission role, Fariba will remain active as an International Referee for the foreseeable future. Her presence, experience, and leadership continue to be invaluable to both USA Karate and the international karate community.
USA Karate extends its heartfelt appreciation to Fariba for her distinguished service and looks forward to supporting her continued contributions to the sport
