New Dates Set for National Championships 2021

USA Karate announced today that the 2021 National Championships and Team Trials will take place Sept. 1-5, 2021 in Chicago. Previously scheduled for July 14-19, the updated competition dates have been set in order to accommodate the evolving public health guidelines in Illinois.  

“USA Karate remains nimble and continues to adjust to public health guidance in the communities where we are scheduled to compete,” said USA Karate CEO Phil Hampel. “We’re incredibly hopeful that the current trajectory of the pandemic allows us to compete in September. This announcement has weighed heavily on us all after a long period of cancelled events, postponed championships and changes in event regulations. We cannot wait until we can all safely reunite on the tatami.”

USA Karate will be releasing information regarding the venue, hotel room blocks and schedules in the coming weeks. As guidance for sporting events continue to evolve, USA Karate is working with event and venue staff to appropriately adjust to all necessary regulations in order to host a safe event.
