Affiliated Organizations

Affiliated Organization members are defined as:

(1) a not-for-profit corporation, association, or other group organized in the United States that sponsors or arranges an amateur athletic competition, and

(2) that participates in an interstate or international amateur athletic competition; and

(3) is current on their annual membership fee, and

(4) that conducts a national program or regular national amateur athletic competition in karate on a level of proficiency appropriate for the selection of amateur athletes to represent the United States in international amateur athletic competition.

Also, we want to remind all affiliated organizations that they must meet the SafeSport requirements below.

An Affiliated Organization shall comply with the reporting requirements of section 226 of the Victims of Child Abuse Act of 1990 (34 U.S.C. 20341); establish reasonable procedures to limit one-on-one interactions, including communications, between an amateur athlete who is a minor and an adult (who is not the minor’s legal guardian) at a facility under the jurisdiction of the applicable amateur sports organization without being in an observable and interruptible distance from another adult, except under emergency circumstances; offer and provide consistent training to all adult members who are in regular contact with amateur athletes who are minors, and subject to parental consent, to members who are minors regarding prevention and reporting of child abuse to allow a complainant to report an incident of child abuse to appropriate persons easily; and

prohibit retaliation against any individual who makes a report under paragraph (1); or any other report relating to abuse of any amateur athlete, including emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.Affiliated Organizations.

Affiliate Director will be held in Q4 of 2024 and the timelines will be available shortly. Currently, Patrick Hickey of USA Karate Federation is the Affiliate Director. We will be using Yes Elections to manage all the elections.
