WATCH Karate 2020 Olympic Qualification Tournament

Over 500 karatekas from 98 countries have arrived in Paris to compete at the Karate Olympic Qualification Tournament this weekend, June 11-13.
The top three competitors in each of the eight Olympic weight classes will punch their tickets to Tokyo 2020 this weekend.

Friday, June 11
The Paris Qualification Tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 am local time (3 am Eastern) on Friday, June 11th, beginning with the elimination rounds for Kata Female, Kumite Male -67kg and Kumite Female -55kg.
Following the repechages and ranking rounds, the top four karatekas from each category will return to the tatami at 18:00 (12 pm Eastern) for the finals: a round-robin format in which the top three will qualify for the Olympic Games.

- Trinity Allen, Kumite -55kg
- Brian Hilliard, Kumite -67kg
Saturday, June 12
On Day 2 of the competition at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin this Saturday, karateka in the Male Kata, Kumite Female -61kg and Kumite Male -75kg will hit the mats beginning at 9 am local time (3 am Eastern).
Following the repechages and ranking rounds, the top four karateka from each category will return to the tatami at 18:00 (12 pm Eastern) for the finals: a round-robin format in which the top three will book their tickets to Tokyo.

- Ariel Torres, Kata
- Elisa Au, Kumite -61kg
- Tom Scott, Kumite -75kg
Sunday, June 13
On Day 3 this Sunday, Olympic tickets in the Kumite Female +61kg and Kumite Male +75kg will be determined. The action will begin at 10:00 a.m. local time (4 am Eastern), with the finals starting at 17:00 (11 am Eastern).
USA Athletes competing DAY 3:
- Cirrus Lingl, Kumite +68kg
- Brian Irr, Kumite +75kg
A total of 24 athletes will qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games this weekend.
