Resumption of the Regional Referee Certification Program

by USA NKF Staff

Dear USA Karate:

On behalf of the USA Karate Referee Education Committee we are happy to announce that the Regional Referee Certification Program has resumed. The first regional seminar was held in April and there are three additional seminars being scheduled in the near future.

We are very excited about this program as it will help increase the number of officials, which will in turn allow us to better serve our athletes. At this point there are 15 instructors from around the country authorized to train and certify regional officials. If you are interested in becoming a Regional Referee and Judge Instructor please submit your application through the USA Karate Website. (Application for Instructor’s License). Once all of your materials have been uploaded and verified we will send you a link to the next Instructor training session so that you can be certified and get started with your own Referee and Judge Seminars.

For those wishing to become a licensed Regional Official, please note that you must be a USA Karate Member and must be at least 14 years old. Cadets are eligible and encouraged to become officials. One of the best ways to improve your tournament performance is to understand what the officials are looking for when they are judging your competition.

Thank you for your interest and your dedication to Karate-do.
